Homemade Henna: Easy 3 Simple Steps

by Henna on August 7, 2013

It is easy to find ready made henna pastes in the market. But the problem is that they have added chemicals and preservatives to boost the color. Here is a simple and easy 3 step process to make your own home made henna.

1. Henna Leaves or Henna Powder (you can buy them at a local ethnic market)
2. 1-2 Tablespoon black tea (or 2 tea bags)
3. 1 Lemon

1. Add the black tea powder (or 2 tea bags) to 300 ml of water and boil for 15-20 minutes. Let it cool down by allowing it to sit for 30 minutes undisturbed.
2. Ground the fresh henna leaves (or henna powder) adding few drops of tea water and lemon to a consistency of tooth paste. Lemon enhances the color of your henna.
3. Add the remaining lemon to the paste and mix it well. Cover the paste and let this paste sit for an hour.

1. Clean the body part with soap and warm water to remove dust and impurities.
2. Rub with few drops of eucalyptus oil for a perfect application (you can also sprinkle lemon juice and moisten if you do not have eucalyptus oil).
3. Refer to our website for designs :)

1. Let the henna sit on your hand or where ever applied as long as possible.
2. Drying up of henna is normal. You can enhance the moisture of it by dipping a cotton swab in eucalyptus oil or a solution of lemon juice and sugar and gently dabbing over the henna design.
3. Gently peel the henna off and do not wash your hands right away. If certainly needed, do so with cold water.

Simple and Elegant Hand Henna

by Henna on July 26, 2013

Here is a simple but a cool looking hand henna design. Pretty simple this one. Begin from the center of your palm. To make it interesting, you can use different colors of henna.

Party perfect Henna design. Start from your wrist and then work your way down to your fingers. Try running the center design to your index finger or your pinky for some cool look and variety.

Since the Henna Cake design that we shared was such a big hit, I thought I’d share this very pretty Henna Cupcake design! I love how you can mix and match these with the frosting and piped henna design on top.

These would be really fun to do for a bridal or baby shower!

What a beautiful matching Wedding Henna Design this is! I love the open space on the hands that draws attention to the edges of the intricate detail. Gorgeous!

I also think this would be very fun to do as sort of a best friend henna design!
